Reading Time

This week I have read a lot. I started re reading the Narnia series and I am on the second book because I skipped the first one. I read about 3 hours the whole week if not more, invested in the words of C.S. Lewis.

Important passage in Macbeth

In the scene right after the Murders killed Banquo, and Banquo's ghost came and "haunted" Macbeth, Macbeth said a really interesting and seemingly important line. Right after everyone left the dinner Macbeth was hosting, and he was acting crazy and scared by Banquo, Macbeth said, "...blood will have blood...". I thought about that for a while then I realized it could mean a ton of different things that make sense in the book. You can take it like this, "...Blood will have blood..." as in a person's family by blood will always remain in that blood passed down. That makes sense because he wants Banquo's son killed so he can have the throne in his family blood line. Macbeth doesn't want Banquo's family to end up being royal, he wants the royalty to stay in his blood line. The witches said that Banquo's sons were going to be kings, so that means the Royalty isn't going to end up being in Macbeths family.  Macbeth's only problem is that he doesn't have kids, so that won't happen until/unless he has kids.

Another way to take it is "... blood will have blood..." as in now that Banquo's killed there are going to be more people dead for Macbeths pleasure as king. Macbeth is the top dog and he is guarding his position at the top. He will do anything to stay king. He realizes that throughout the book the only way to get his way is by killing people who are in the way of him being king. The only way to be king was to kill Duncan (the old king) and he did so. The only way to keep the royalty in his blood line was to kill Banquo's son, and Banquo so there would be no one telling about it (He killed banquo and failed to kill Fleance (Banquo's son)). Every corner that Macbeth turns he finds a threat to his position, and feels he has to take control of it by doing something about it. He never seems to let it be. I think that is important to the book because it foreshadows while displaying an important message. selfishness isn't the answer in Macbeth's case.

Free Post

Over Spring Break I went to Orlando with the Band and it was so much fun. I rode lots of roller coasters (even though I don't like them very much) and had fun with my friends. We went to Disney World, and to Universal. We first went to the Magic kingdom where I rode Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I also rode the peter pan ride, the pirates of carribean ride, and the haunted mansion ride. The next day we went to epcot and went around all the countries trying new things like delicious pastries in Norway, or strange fish in Japan. We went to Animal kingdom the next day where I rode a water ride and got soaked, and got the cutest earrings from Africa. Right after we left Animal kingdom we went straight to hollywood studios where I rode all of the movie rides and more! I didn't go on the Tower of Terror because I don't like the feeling of my stomach flying up. After that on our last day we went to Universal where I had  the most fun in Harry Potter world. I might be a dork for this, but I got my very own wand from Ollivanders wand shop. We rode the flight simulator in Hogwarts castle which was my all time favorite ride. The next day we came home only to find ourselves going through a Disney hangover.

After all the fun... I come home being stressed out because I have a project due on Tuesday and I haven't even finished the book that I need to have finished to complete the three projects. Honestly I would love to blame every other living soul out there for this, but It is my fault. My teacher warned us about it popping up after the break and I didn't care to think about it. I probably am not the only person that did this though. So, I am freaking out about it, but the thought of me not being the only person who procrastinates like this helps a little. I think I am fine at writing my Ideas down about a book on paper, so I shouldn't worry too much. Therefore my break was fantastic.

Reading Log time

Today (only today) I've read  4 whole hours of one book almost finished it just because I have a project due on thursday (three), the week before I read 2 hours of reading, Allegiant on the bus to Orlando.

Statements I Have to Respond to

The statements that I am going to respond to are, "If you are in a position of power, you are happy", and "Women are more compassionate and less violent than men."

I disagree with "If you are in a position of power, you are happy", because it depends on your personality and your wants, to be happy in a position in power. For some they are happy following others, and they don't really want to stand up as an authority because they don't like rukus. There are people who think that power is just stressful, and can be taken by someone else. Also, power doesn't really matter, if you are happy with who you are, then you shouldn't need something more to make you feel great. I don't think power makes people happy; I think power makes people feel powerful, and they like the idea of being able to do things whenever they want. A king can be sad as a position in power if he has no friends or anyone to go to. It mainly depends on what makes that person happy. Sure, someone in power could be and is probably happy somewhere, but  I guarantee that their happiness doesn't come from their power.

I Also disagree with "Women are more compassionate and less violent than men." because there is evidence that this isn't true. There are women in jail for doing violent things, and that is proof that women are violent creatures. In fact most women are strong willed and they fight for what they think is right most of the time. I am a very strong willed person, so whatever I believe is right I tend to keep arguing for it until I win, or until someone says, "It doesn't even matter" even with stupid situations. Also, men can be compassionate. I've seen men cry many times about important things that they loved, or just about sports. I think compassion and violent are more of personality feelings than being applied to a gender.

Reading and Work Time

I've been reading my new book that I got for History class The Baker's Daughter its hard to explain what it's about. It's about two different people in different lives and each chapter jumps from one to the other. One  of them is a German girl  from Garmisch and her name is Elise, and the other is a Texan woman in El Paso named Reba. Elise is also in Reba's life, but at an old lady who owns a German Bakery in El Paso, but Elise also has her younger life explained throughout the book. It's pretty good so far, I've spent about 2 hours reading the book.

On the other hand, the Nervous Conditions project I've spent about 2 hours as well on those projects.
