A&P -NO

Honestly I thought the A&P story was pointless. I don't get the moral of the story if there is one. It is about a guy named Sammy who works at a store called A&P and he judges people and then ends up standing up for the people he judged for his own liking. So, is the author trying to say that this is how some people think? No idea. Apparently the story was a big switch from a decade and he was showing people how life was after some point in the 1900's. Also the main character was a selfish jerk. He didn't care about the people he was "standing up for" he just wanted to look like a hero to them. He ended up losing his job (he quit) for the girls (he is stupid) and they didn't even see his standing. There was no point in standing up for them if they are gone, and all you want to do is show them who you aren't! I just didn't like that about the story. That's really all that bothered me.

  1. I agree with you to on how pointless the story was, but I think the moral of the story was "Don't go changin' to please me " ~ Billy Joel . By the way great blog! All your post are very interesting I love it! ~Kaylin

  2. To me, the fact that the girls are gone makes Sammy's act a little more noble, though ineffective. He takes a stand even though he knows there is nothing in it for him. Why 126 minutes of wordly wise? Try to keep your wordly wise work to about 30 minutes per week.
