Island Panic
In class on Thursday, the book Lord of the flies was given to us. As an introduction our class had to figure out how we would live on a deserted island with no adults, and only us and 1st graders. Well, it was mainly chaos. I think that everyone wanted to be the chief of the class, and or wanted a particular job they probably wouldn't have in real life if this scenario happened. Also no one could decide on what plans we were going to use, or what strategies we could have used to get off the island. We were preparing more for staying there than leaving. Everyone also forgot about the poor little 1st graders, so I became the caretaker of them along with Ellie. I ended up realizing that whatever plan or groups came up out of everyone's ideas probably wasn't going to work so I was going to end up ditching them or backstabbing everyone anyways. At least I gave them a warning.
I think that if this was in real life everyone would be in a panic at first. The leader would have to be someone who is clam, organized, and mature. That means the leader would have to be a girl. If we were stuck on an island with first graders, the first graders would more likely cry until someone calmed them down. If one child cries, another one does, and so on. I think the boys would end up doing something bad to the poor babies :(. I don't think anyone would think of a plan or anything. I think that we would all just sit there until the reality hit us and we had to think of something. That's how teens work.
Although we couldn't have come up with a plan I think that we would have a lot of fun. We would probably come up with some cool things to do while we were there. And we would have a cool story to tell if we lived and returned! We would end up looking on the bright side and not worrying to much. Everything would probably be alright, as long as Parker doesn't go insane and sacrifice someone. The island of fun and Insanity.
I love your reflection on Thursday's class period! I wasn't at school on Friday so I don't know much about what y'all did with the book, but this is a perfect description! I definitely agree on a girl being the leader too. Great Job Maddie!
ReplyDeleteI love your reflection! i think that its a more realistic way of thinking about things. I agree with you, that there should be a girl leader, because you're right, we are bit more calm. Keep up the good blogging!
