The book i'm currently reading is North of Beautiful by Justina Chen. I haven't gotten that far into the book, but so far the main character Terra has wanted to secretly get into a college without her dad knowing, and she hasn't gotten the letter back yet. Also she has a huge birthmark across her cheek and people are trying to help her get rid of it but she is fine with it. It seems like the people are being rude and practically calling her ugly. She wears makeup on her face everyday, and she has an attractive boyfriend named Erik. I haven't gotten that far into the book - i'm on chapter three - but so far the book is good and it hasn't bored me to death like normal books tend to do.
It seems like everyone is against Terra in the beginning of the book - second chapter (I think) - everyone wants her to fix her face and decide her future. Her dad knows where he wants her to go to school (college) and her teachers - I know this is just too terrible to be true - are asking her to get her face fixed with laser surgery. I really wouldn't want to be Terra in her situations that she deals with, especially since she is worried about getting into the college she wants to without her dad knowing. How do you hide something that big? She must be a genius! I can't wait to keep on reading and finding out more about Terra and her Life.
